The first thing you'll notice about the Red Star Tavern and Roast House-and perhaps the last-is the festive atmosphere. You won't know where to look from the lively bar to the sophisticated dining area with floor-to-ceiling windows. The large, multi-level dining room is full of thirties-style murals and the kitchen is mostly exposed against the mahogany walls. The food is all about comfort, and the down-home menu even extends to funky breakfast options like corned beef and sweet potato hash. It's walkable in the downtown area, and the hip atmosphere is worth the slightly-heavy menu prices.
